Even without sheep you can follow the tracks of old shepherds. Wuerttemberg coined the Schäferzunft up until the fifteenth century.

Nowadays the tradition of hiking and hunting is continued.

The image of the Heidenheim cattle region is characterized by grazing sheep which protect the juniper heaths from overgrowing and help preserve the ecosystem there.

You can experience what it’s like to be shepherd, on ten stages of the Albschäferweg.

A total of 158 km lead through idyllic valleys, beech forests and fresh juniper heaths.

It is best to plan in several days to enjoy this beautiful hiking trail in its entirety.

Follow the salt trail, 230 km long with a total of 18 days worth of hikes.

The Salzalpensteig stretches from Bavaria to Austria.

There are also 26 smaller tours, ranging from 7 to 50 kilometers in length.

A piece of history can be experienced here as the route leads through historically and culturally valuable areas.

Beautiful lakes offer another beautiful facet of this long-distance trail and thus serve various tastes and performance classes.

Beslerrunde: On kings' paths

Follow the traces of the Bavarian king Maxmilian II.

Quality trails in Bad Herrenalb Wanderglück in the northern Black Forest
